Welcome Week activities afford you the opportunity to acclimate to the resources and values of the Bridgewater State University community by offering various social opportunities.

9am - 1pm Welcome Week Institutes

Institutes have a limited number of seats, but will provide you the opportunity to meet with some of your fellow classmates with similar interests.  More information about our institutes can be found by clicking here.  Registration is closed.  Information about location and times will be sent to your e-mail!

Lunch is available in various locations around campus. Please check the Dining Hall locations and hours for Welcome Week here.
   
1pm - 4pm BSU 101 - 1 Paw Point
(East Campus Commons Atrium)
This is your chance to learn more about campus and take care of some items before classes start. Bring your laptop to ECC to get it set up for the wireless network, bring your class schedule and get assistance navigating the bookstore, or meet at the Clocktower for a shuttle to grab last minute items from some local stores. Shuttle Schedule is subject to change and space is first come first served.
1pm - Buses depart for Wal-Mart or Target shopping center (includes Kohls and Home Depot)
2pm - Buses depart for Wal-Mart and Silver City Galleria Mall
   
5-6pm Dinner
Dinner is available in various locations around campus.  Please check the Dining Hall locations and hours for Welcome Week here.
   
7:00-10pm Your Community - REQUIRED
(Tinsley Center)

Starting with a session about diversity and embracing differences, we will move into a session that will help build community and give you the chance to meet many of your fellow classmates.  Please dress comfortably! Sneakers are recommended!

   
10pm - 1am Late Night at ECC - 2 Paw Points
(East Campus Commons)

Late night breakfast, activities, bingo, prizes and much more! Resident students, use your meal plan.  Commuters, we will sponsor at least the first 75 students. Cash and meal plans will be accepted as well!

Print out your class schedule (or stop by and we'll help you print it out) and get a tour of the best routes around campus. Commuters, we'll show you the best routes from parking lots too!
Campus Center Front Steps suggested for classes in RCC, Art, Hunt, Harrington, Library, Kelly, Science, Boyden.
Moakley Center Atrium suggested for classes in Moakley, Hart, Burnell, Tinsley. Got a mix of buildings? Start at either location!

12:30-2:30pm Class Picture and New Student Convocation - REQUIRED

It's time to smile and mark your place in BSU history! Each new student will receive their own BSU t-shirt at check-in.  The class picture is followed by your official welcome to BSU as we kick off the start of the new academic year.

   
3-5pm College Open Houses-REQUIRED
Visit the Open House that connects to your major or interests! You are welcome to visit more then one.

Good singers, bad singers, shower singers, car singers - ALL are welcome! Karaoke and Ice Cream will be hosted by our Fraternities and Sororities.  This is a great way to meet fellow classmates, some upperclass students and learn about how you can join one of our Greek organizations!

8:30am - 11am September 11th 5k Walk/Run
(Starting at Boyden Quad)

Join Program Committee and Student Government Association as we commemorate the 10th anniversary of the events of September 11, 2001.  Your $10 entry fee will be donated to a 9/11 related fund. The first 200 registered participants will receive a t-shirt. No matter if you walk, run or just cheer on your friends, we will come together as one community to remember.

   
11am - 2pm 9/11 Day of Service and Pancake Breakfast
(Campus Center Ballroom)
As we continue our day of remembrance, join the Community Service Center for a Pancake Breakfast. Help with service projects and join with the University and members of the town of Bridgewater as we come together and remember.
