Pluto: The Dog, the Planet, the Legend
Recent controversy over the classification of Pluto in the solar system has valid scientific arguments on both sides. On balance, however, with the persistent discovery of icy objects in the outer solar system that resemble Pluto, Pluto's planethood is clearly at risk, if not deserving to be rescinded altogether. In this illustrated talk, Tyson will discuss and debate the scientific as well as sociological issues regarding Pluto's status in the solar system.

"Physics as a Study of Nature's Rules"
When physics is taught as a study of nature's rules, it becomes relevant to all people. When the mathematical roadblock is lowered, it becomes accessible to all people. Being the most central of the sciences, good sense suggests that physics be a part of the general education mainstream. A side effect to this emphasis is greater interest in science and greater enrollments in science classes.
