Residence Hall Services

  • Connect Card (BSU ID Card): During your orientation program, you will have the opportunity to go to the Parking Services and Connect Card Office located on the bottom floor of Hart Hall to get your Connect Card. The staff will take your picture and print your ID card. The ID allows you access to the meal plan and “Flex Dollars” for undergraduates, as well as the athletic center, the library, and other campus resources. Your Connect Card will also serve as the key to the front door of your residence hall. If you live in Crimson, Pope, Scott, Shea or Durgin Halls it will also be used to gain entry to your room and/or bathroom.
  • Mail Services: All resident students receive mail in their building.  Mailboxes are assigned by mail services and students receive their combinations via their InfoBear account once they arrive. Packages may be picked up in the Campus Mail Services office in Tillinghast Hall during business hours. The format of your Bridgewater address will be:
    • YOUR NAME
Your Residence Hall, Box X (undergraduate student’s mailbox number)
      Bridgewater State University
      Bridgewater, MA 02325 USA
  • ResNet: The ResNet program provides on-campus residents with internet, telephone and cable television service.  The $160 fee for these services is automatically applied to your housing bill.
    • Telephone: ResNet will provide you with a telephone line, including unlimited local dialing, call waiting and voicemail, but you will need to provide a phone. As long as you reside on campus, you will keep the same phone number until you graduate. All on-campus numbers are the same format: (508) 531 followed by a four-digit extension. To make calls within campus, you only need to dial the last four digits of the number. To call off-campus from a campus telephone, you will need to dial 8 for an outside line, then 1, followed by the number. In most cases, you will need a Personal Authorization Code (PAC) to connect. You will receive your PAC code upon arrival.
    • Internet: The University offers a wireless campus as well as a wired connection for each resident student.
    • Cable Television: ResNet offers basic cable services plus premium movie channels and customized three channel Residence Life Cinema program. Cables are available at check-in to connect one television per room.
  • Security: All residence halls are locked 24 hours a day, seven days a week to ensure resident student safety.  Shea/Durgin, the Student Apartments, and Woodward Halls are staffed 24 hours a day by Institutional Security Officers (ISOs).  ISOs sign in guests and inspect all items entering the residence halls.  The other buildings are staffed by Student Security Officers (SSOs) who perform the same functions from 7 PM - 3 AM daily.
