Frequently Asked Questions - Room Selection 2013 - 2014

ROOM SELECTION QUESTIONS

What is Room Selection?
Room selection is a process to allow current resident students to choose residence hall rooms for the 2013-2014 academic year. The intent is to make rooms available to students in the fairest manner possible.

Who can participate in Room Selection?
Any current residence hall student who paid a housing deposit by 4pm on March 8, 2013 is eligible to participate in room selection.

What do I need to do to select a room?
If you are planning to live in the same room or are planning to be pulled in by another student who is selecting to live in the same room, you need to participate in the Same Room Sign-up Process. If you are planning to live in a different room or hall you need to participate in the Web Lottery Process.  If you are interested in living in Mixed Gender Housing, 9 Month Housing, the Upper-class Honors Residential Learning Community, the Global Village, the Social Justice Residential Learning Community or Theme Housing you will need to apply.

What if I have trouble logging into the application?
Help is available in the Office of Residence Life and Housing via phone 508.531.1277 or e-mail at reslife@bridgew.edu

No, in order to participate in Same Room Sign-up you must fill the spaces as follows:

  • If you live in Pope or Scott Halls you must fill the entire room for your sign-up to be finalized.
  • If you live in Miles, DiNardo, East or Crimson you must fill the entire suite for your sign-up to be finalized.

If I want to sign up for my same room, can I pull in a friend with me?
Yes, if your room or suite will not be full you must pull in other eligible students to fill the room or suite. You must select your desired roommate(s) during the roommate selection period. The student(s) you are pulling in must be current residents who have paid housing deposits by the deadline and have completed their residence hall license agreement.  You must have a fully matched roommate group at the time you login to complete the same room sign up.  You cannot go back to pull others in after you have finalized your selection.

  • Note: You will not be able to complete your Same Room Sign-up unless the room or suite is full according to the guidelines above.

Can I sign up for the same suite but in a different room?
During the same room sign-up period, one of your group members who currently lives in the suite must login to the system to select the suite and assign each student in your roommate group to a room within the suite.
