WELCOME

September 2006

Dear Student Leader, On behalf of the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership, I would like to welcome you back for the 2006-07 academic year and wish you an enjoyable, productive and educational experience in your role as a student organization officer.  Our staff is committed to providing each of you with the assistance and support you will need to be successful in your role this year, whether it is a new or familiar one.

It is with this commitment in mind that we set out to create this student organization resource handbook.   It is designed to provide you with information and resources on leading your organization, planning programs, and conducting business at Bridgewater State College.

It is vital to the success of your organization that you use this handbook as a resource for planning your programs.  All too often, student groups create some outstanding event ideas but forget to consider that the planning process takes time and encompasses many details that are crucial to the event.

We hope you find the handbook useful and we welcome your comments about the format and the book's usefulness to your organization.  If you have suggestions about information you would like to see included in the future, please let your program advisor know.  Your input will help us create a more useful tool for all student organizations.
