Working
with Your Organization Advisor
All groups are required to have an organization advisor that is
a member of the full time faculty, staff or administration here at Bridgewater
State College. Your advisor is an essential resource to you in all
aspects of your organization's activities. The
Office of
Student Involvement
and Leadership counts on your organization advisor to be the "front line" contact person
with your organization and to be aware of its issues and challenges. To assist your advisor in this role, the Student Involvement and
Leadership Office sponsors
an Advisor Brown Bag series that offers programs each month for your advisors.
If you need assistance in recruiting an advisor for your organization,
please contact the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership to obtain the interest list of potential advisors.
Working with Your
Program Advisor
Your program advisor is available to help you navigate the program
planning process as well as your organization's development. In
planning events, once you have developed an overall picture of what you
would like to do, your next stop should be with your program advisor.
The Associate Director of Student Involvement and Leadership
assigns program Advisors in the beginning of each academic year or when
a new group is formed.
As a recognized student organization, your group is entitled to a set
of privileges and must also uphold certain responsibilities.
