Massachusetts Math and Science Partnership (MMSP)

The MMSP grant is funded through Federal NCLB and Massachusetts DOE funding sources. Eligible teachers include middle school science teachers (grades 4-8) who have not yet met the state definition of "highly qualified" or have a need for increased science content as determined by their district. Teachers who participate in the MMSP grant courses are eligible for up to nine (9) credits of graduate level coursework which, if interested, can be transferred into the MAT in Physical Science program. The cost of each three credit graduate course as well as materials (including text books) are covered by the grant. There is a $25.00 non-refundable registration fee required.

Spring 2009 Poster Session
To be held in May at Bridgewater State College

Each grant year culminates in teacher participants collaborating in a poster session event. This is an opportunity for participants to showcase what they have learned in the MMSP course and how they have adapted it to their middle school level classroom. This poster session provides an opportunity to highlight their work in a professional and collaborative format while sharing best practices and problem-solving techniques. The poster session also consists of a recognition dinner, provided by Bridgewater State College, for all participants of the grant. Below are some of the photos from last spring's poster session. Additional links to teacher's posters are also provided.

Samples of some of the posters:

Additional Information:

Because this is a grant -sponsored course and all costs are covered by the grant, there are additional expectations for students. Please read and complete both the Teacher Participant Responsibilities form and Candidate Application form in order to register for any of the courses.
