Students applying for a graduate certificate program need to have a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.5.  Official transcripts must be submitted to the School of Graduate Studies along with a current resume.

Graduate Certificate Programs

Accounting

The graduate certificate in accounting is designed primarily for students who have a minimal prior academic background in accounting, yet hold a bachelor’s degree, and who need formal preparation for their career goals. Through the core required courses and elective courses, students are afforded the flexibility to choose a program which best fits their own professional and personal needs.

Students interested in sitting for the Uniform CPA exam should enroll in the MSM-Accounting graduate degree and complete the following additional courses:

* Students who elect the graduate certificate program in Accounting or Management may utilize those courses in the Master  of Science in Management program provided they meet all the requisites for admission and transfer credit parameters. Information Systems Management

This graduate certificate program provides a solid foundation in information systems management, enabling students to manage and use current information technologies. Emphasizing analytical and problem-solving skills, the program addresses both the integration and use of technology as a critical business tool. Depending on electives selected, students will gain an in-depth understanding of programs in accounting, finance, and/or management.

Instructional Technology

This 12-credit certificate program is designed to meet the needs of pre-K-12 teachers who want to learn how to use technology but may not want a full master's program. Upon completion of the 12-credit program, students are awarded an Instructional Technology certificate by the Office of Graduate and Continuing Education.

Important: The certificate program is not a licensure program and does not replace the M.Ed. in IT. Students who plan to pursue a Massachusetts teaching license in Instructional Technology need to consult the college catalog.

Management Certificate

The graduate certificate in management is designed primarily for students who hold a bachelor's degree in an area other than business or management and seek a foundation in business management principles: accounting, finance, and management.  Through the core required courses listed below and a graduate management elective course, students are afforded the flexibility to choose a program which best fits their own professional and personal needs.

MGMT 500 - Computational Statistics (or comparable statistics course)
MGMT 506 - Issues in Management
MGMT 526 - Project Management
MGMT 576 - Organizational Change and Leadership
MGMT        - Graduate-level Elective in Management
And a working knowledge of computers

Candidates may transfer MGMT 526, MGMT 576, and their graduate elective into the Masters of Science in Management Program.  Once accepted into the MSM Program, students would need to complete three additional graduate core courses and four graduate courses in a concentration.

Please note acceptance into the Graduate Certificate in Management program does not guarantee acceptance in to the MSM program.

Marketing Management

The graduate certificate in marketing management enables students to acquire a foundation in all facets of marketing management. Students will enhance that foundation with an array of electives. This program meets the needs of those individuals aspiring to higher positions within their current professions and affords opportunities to those seeking new directions.

The undergraduate certificate in operations management is designed for professionals interested in acquiring the broad-based skills necessary to assume the functions of an operations manager within any size company or not-for-profit organization.
