CALL FOR PROPOSALS: Papers or Posters
Graduate students from Bridgewater State College are invited to submit proposals for the Graduate Student Research Symposium being held this coming April. Sponsored by the School of Graduate Studies, the research symposium is an opportunity for graduate students in all fields to showcase their work and to discuss their findings with other interested scholars. While students are encouraged to present their papers individually or in panels, a poster session will be devoted to a more casual walk-around presentation style.
The conference will be held at Bridgewater State College, Bridgewater, MA, on Friday, April 23, 2010, with concurrent sessions running throughout the day from 9:00 to 5:00. These sessions will be grouped thematically around papers, each of which should be from 15 to 20 minutes long, followed by time for discussion. After the conference, proceedings of the papers will be published. The cost for the symposium, including lunch for the participants, will be covered by the School of Graduate Studies.
Proposals for individual papers, panels or posters drawn from pure or applied research in all fields of graduate study are welcome. Relevant creative work, supported by graduate research, is also welcome. Although we will accept proposals up until April 1, 2010, we encourage you to submit your proposal early, and you will then receive early notification in return.
Please send an electronic copy of the following pages:
1. A cover sheet that lists
the presenter's name and presentation title;
the presenters address, phone number, and email address;
the graduate professor for whom the paper was written; and
any audiovisual equipment required for your presentation.
2. A one-page abstract that describes your research presentation. The abstract should explain the goals of your research, your methodology, and your expected findings.
Send your submissions electronically no later than April 1, 2010, to:
