Q: How may I contact the department of Sociology?

A: The department phone number is (508) 531-1355. You may also stop by the office in Burrill Office Complex, Suite 101. Our hours of operation are from 9 a.m. to 4pm.

Q: How come no one was in the office when I stopped by?

A: If you stopped by within our hours of operation and no one was in the office, the secretary was probably on lunch break and the student workers have not yet arrived. It is best to call the office first to make sure someone is around, otherwise stop by again an hour or so later.

Q: How can I know if my professor cancelled a class or if the school closed from bad weather?

A: Simple - a list of faculty absences are located here (accessible on campus only). Another way is to call the Class Cancellation line at (508) 531-1391, and the Emergency and Weather-Related Closing Information line at (508) 531-1777. It is also possible that a professor mentioned in class a day when they won't be teaching and it is not on either of these lists.
