Undergraduate Education in Communication Disorders:

The department offers an undergraduate pre-professional concentration in Communication Disorders for those students who wish to pursue an education in speech-language pathology or audiology. The program provides students with the prerequisite information pertaining to the scope and practice of the profession, normal developmental processes of communication, disorders of communication, and clinical aspects of the profession in accordance with undergraduate curriculum requirements of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Students may follow two tracts: a non-practicum tract which allows the student to complete the concentration requirements in two full years of study, or, a practicum tract which allows qualified students to participate in clinical practicum experience during their senior year in the BSC Speech-Language-Hearing Center. Students, upon their successful completion of the program, are prepared to apply for graduate study at any of the ASHA accredited graduate programs throughout the United States.
