The scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate student in the College of Education and Allied Studies who is entering the junior year and who graduated from a high school in Somerset.

Brief Description: This scholarship is awarded in honor of Dr. Dubois, a long time member of the movement arts, health promotion and leisure studies department, who was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS) in late fall 2001. Dr. Dubois' efforts saved an endangered wrestling club and helped to restore it to varsity team status. The scholarship is awarded to a wrestler who has completed his eligibility for wrestling, holds at least a 2.70 GPA, and has been involved in community service.

Brief Description: This scholarship benefits students who qualify as a junior or senior in the upcoming academic year with a GPA of 2.75 or higher. Current sophomores,juniors and returning seniors who meet the qualifications are encouraged to apply. Applicants will demonstrate a desire to excel within one's academic major and have a strong record of campus involvement or community service engagement. Brief Description: Created in 2007, the President's Award for Community Service recognizes a current Bridgewater State University sophomore, junior or senior who has demonstrated dedication to community service and volunteerism. The recipient of this award is someone who is involved in community service and philanthropic activities and through such involvement, is able to motivate and encourage others to make a difference in their community.

Brief Description: This scholarship was established in 2003 to acknowledge Dr. Rao's service as a member of the Earth Sciences and Geography Department. This scholarship is awarded to a senior majoring in Geography who has an excellent academic record and plans to pursue graduate study. If there are no qualified Geography applicants, a student majoring in one of the sciences going on to graduate school may be considered.

Brief Description: This scholarship was established in 1989 by the colleagues, friends and family of Harold Ridlon, who was a member of the faculty for more than 20 years, 14 of which he served as chairperson for the Department of English. This scholarship is awarded to a junior English major who demonstrates academic excellence and originality.

Brief Description: This scholarship is named in honor of Professor Henry Santos, professor of music from 1971-1999, for his lifetime devotion to the composition, performance and teaching of music. This scholarship benefits a student who is entering his/her junior year and majoring in either special education or elementary education in preparation for a career in teaching. Preference will be given to a Black, Cape Verdean, Hispanic, African descent or Native American student from Massachusetts.

Brief Description: This scholarship was established in 1996 by the trustees of the S. Elizabeth Pope Fund in honor of Cora Vining who served the alumni association for more than 25 years as a volunteer and executive secretary. The award recognizes a student entering their sophomore or junior year who has shown community spirit on campus and/or in his or her own community.

Brief Description: Named in honor of Dr. George A. Weygand, a member of the faculty and chair of the Department of Physics from 1958-1999, this scholarship was established in 1999 to benefit an undergraduate student. Preference is given to a junior or senior, majoring in physics, chemistry or earth science who has an excellent scholastic record and who plans to be a teacher of science.
