Mission Statement

   

Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges is an award that honors Bridgewater State University students for their outstanding scholastic and cocurricular achievements. This award recognizes seniors whose experiences demonstrate a holistic approach to learning by engaging in intellectual and personal growth opportunities both in and out of the classroom.  The institution encourages students to seek out meaningful experiences in a variety of curricular and co-curricular activities that will integrate learning and personal development to foster important life skills.

 

The criteria for this award are established by Bridgewater State University and selection is made through a committee of faculty, administrators and students. The following academic and co-curricular experiences are considered: 

  1. current 3.0 GPA;
  2. academic experiences that take place both in and out of the classroom such as honors work, undergraduate research, international study opportunities, field work, internships, special projects or employment related to academic work; and

  3. co-curricular involvement  both on campus and in the community as evidenced by participation in community service, clubs, organizations, associations, committees or athletics; and/or exemplary leadership roles on campus or in the community.

  4. must be in good standing in accordance with the BSU Code of Conduct as stated in the Student Handbook.
