Study Abroad

See the world! Study internationally for a semester or an academic year to get immersed in another culture and get the most out of an international experience.

Bridgewater State College students can study abroad almost anywhere in the world. Select a study abroad program from the Study Abroad Links list or visit our homepage to view our exchange and study tour programs. Be sure to meet with the Office of Study Abroad, fill out the necessary paperwork, and check on financial aid. BEGIN EARLY.

Study Abroad Procedure

1. Search for a program or university that offers study abroad at the country or university of your choice. Stop by the Office of Study Abroad to discuss your options.
2. Be sure to compare programs for cost, course offerings that will fit your academic program, and accommodations. Find a program that best suits your needs.
3. Discuss your plans with your academic advisor and a representative of the Office of Study Abroad.
4. Visit the Financial Aid Office to discuss how to finance your program costs.
5. Apply directly to the program of your choice.
6. Once you have been accepted, submit a copy of your acceptance letter to the Office of Study Abroad.
7. Complete the Transfer of Credit Form to ensure that your classes are pre-approved for transfer when you return from studying abroad.
8. Discuss your plans to study abroad with the Residence Life and Housing Office (if you are a resident student).
9. Complete all paperwork through the Office of Study Abroad.
10. Contact the Office of Study Abroad during your semester away and submit student contact information.
11. Enjoy your experience!

Study Abroad Fairs

The Office of Study Abroad offers several study abroad fairs on campus throughout the year. Many of you visited our fall fair. We will be offering another study abroad fair during on September 10, 2009.
