ENGL 491 Literary Studies in Sligo

June 5-26, 2009

 

 

                                                          

 

This course makes full use of the environs of Sligo, Ireland to provide students with intensive study of topics in Irish literature and culture, near the home of William Butler Yeats and other key figures in Irish History. Lectures take place at the Innisfree International College and Convention Center, and are combined with cultural events and field trips. Authors and periods will vary.

  • Field trip to Dublin with tour of the city

  • Irish seisuns, music presentations and instruction

  • Castle visits, hill walks, scavenger hunts and football matches

                                              

 

Faculty Leader: John Mulrooney

Professor John Mulrooney teaches poetry and creative writing at Bridgewater State College. He did graduate work at NYU and has been previously involved in study tours to Spain and Senegal.

Fulltime BSC Students

Due to a reduction in cost the price for Fulltime BSC students in only $3,050.

1. Complete the BSC Study Tour Application below and return them to the Office of Study Abroad

2. Visit the Financial Aid office to discuss how you will fund your trip. Some students take out loans to cover the cost of the trip.

3. Apply for a passport immediately to ensure your ability to travel.

4. Discuss any concerns with the staff in the Office of Study Abroad early in the application process.
