Three easy steps: Apply – Accept – Attend

Priority Deadlines: Fall Semester, November 1; Spring Semester, April 1.
Note: Applications will be accepted after the deadline on a space available basis.

Transferring to BSC has never been easier; follow the three-steps outlined below for a successful transfer.

1. APPLY

You are a transfer student and eligible to transfer if you fit one of the following descriptions:

  • You have 12-24 transferable credits from a 2 or 4-year institution, and a 2.5 or higher GPA. If you have less than 24 credits, you will be asked to submit your high school transcript.
  • You have more than 24 transferable credits from a 2 or 4-year institution and a 2.0 or higher GPA. You will be asked to submit transcripts from each institution of higher education you have attended. Acceptance is based on the GPA of the school you most recently attended. Courses are evaluated in the Office of Admissions by one of Bridgewater's Transfer Counselors.

You can apply online or print the application form. Send your application and transcript(s) to: Office of Admissions, Bridgewater State College, Bridgewater, MA 02325. Your transcript(s) must arrive in a signed/sealed envelope from your transfer institution. You may hand carry or send them with your application if you have a copy, as long as they have been unopened.

Once your application is received, you will receive a confirmation letter with instructions to check the status of your application online to determine if it is complete or if a decision has been made. Please visit this site periodically as the status will change as information is received and as the admission’s review process is completed.

  • If anything is missing from your file, you will receive additional correspondence.

2. ACCEPT

  • Once a decision has been made, a letter will be mailed to you with your transfer credit evaluation and a deposit form.
  • Return your deposit as soon as possible. Once your deposit is received, your place at the College is secure, and you will be invited to participate in one of several orientation sessions. All transfer students are required to attend a mandatory transfer advising program. The dates for students who plan to enter Bridgewater in January 2010 are: January 12, or January 13, with a snow date of January 14.

To assist you in the transfer process, a transfer checklist has been designed for you. Print a copy for your records.

3. ATTEND

  • New transfer students are encouraged to complete the online Transfer Pre-orientation Workshop and attend a mandatory on-campus orientation program. The on-campus orientation program is when you will meet with an advisor and register for classes. If you are part of the Early Joint Admissions Program or the MassTransfer Program and met the priority deadline for early admissions, you may qualify to participate in the online Transfer Pre-orientation Workshop and will not be required to attend orientation on campus. Admissions will determine your eligibility and you will be invited to participate in this program. Please note, you will be required to come on campus to meet with an advisor.
  • Get ready – get involved – and get excited, Bridgewater is an excellent choice for your degree completion.

If you have not toured Bridgewater's beautiful campus and would like to sign up for a tour, contact the Office of Admissions. Online tours are also available.
