Which Major is Right for You?

As a transfer student, you are encouraged to select a major during the application process. Bridgewater State College offers 31 undergraduate majors for you to chose from, and choosing a major that is right for you is the beginning of your educational journey.

When deciding on a major it is important to:

• Consult the college catalog for requirements specific to each major. For example, some majors have an application process with a specific deadline date, while others do not.
• Consider what courses you have already taken and how they will apply to the major you have chosen.
• Determine what area of study you are passionate about. Keep in mind that you have your whole life ahead of you to enter the workforce and spending an extra semester to obtain the degree that you want is something worth considering.

Second majors for Teacher Licensure Program in Early Childhood and Elementary Education - Please note: Not all majors qualify as second majors. Here is a list of majors that do: Anthropology, Art, Biology, Chemistry, Communication Arts & Sciences, Earth Sciences, Economics, English, Geography, History, Mathematics, Music, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Spanish. The Transfer Guidebook is a good resource for students majoring in Elementary and Early Childhood Education.

Majors that can be completed in the evening: Accounting & Finance, Art, Business/Management, Communication Arts & Sciences, Economics, English, Psychology, Sociology.
