BSU Transit Service has been employing student workers since its inception in
January 1984.
Who is eligible to Drive for BSU Transit?
Even though most BSU students have no prior experience driving buses or vans,
our training program covers everything needed to become a successful operator.
- Must be an undergraduate student currently enrolled in
a degree program at BSU, and be registered for at least (6) credits. All students must have three (3) semesters remaining after training ends
in order to be
accepted into the training program, and agree to remain employed during that
time. Therefore, only Freshman, Sophomores, and first semester Juniors are
eligible to apply.
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
- Must have held a Massachusetts motor vehicle operator's license for at
least one year and have a clean driving record
- Must meet and satisfy Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations
with regards to physicals and drug screening.
- A Class B Permit must be obtained as soon as you
are accepted into the training program.
- You must complete all necessary training to receive a Commercial Drivers
License and a Motor Bus Driver's Certificate to be employed in the Transit
Department.
