What does the WAC Network Offer?
The WAC Network is a network of peers striving to become better instructors of writing and dedicated to supporting other faculty and librarians across campus in their efforts to integrate writing into their pedagogy. More specifically, members of the WAC Network can:
Ø share resources with you related to the teaching of writing
Ø engage in conversation with you about teaching with writing
Ø brainstorm with you as you pull together writing-intensive syllabi or writing assignments
The WAC Network provides this support in two ways. First, members of the WAC Network lead biweekly WAC Discussion Groups, which focus on specific areas of writing pedagogy. The WAC Discussion Groups are open to the entire campus community. Second, the Network members welcome informal discussions with faculty and librarians from across campus on issues related to the teaching of writing. The members are not experts in the teaching of writing, but are peers who have tried a few approaches in their own classrooms that they can share, can point the way to WAC resources, and are willing to lend an ear to peers as they design writing curricula and try WAC approaches to pedagogy. You are welcome to contact any WAC Network member to talk about writing instruction.
