WAC Discussion Group:

“Intersections between Technology and Student Writing”

This second WAC Discussion Group of the semester, led by WAC Network members Joyce Rain Anderson and Pamela Russell, focuses on exploring the intersections between technology and writing.  Please join us in our conversations about:

• approaches to using technology to teach writing and to use writing as a tool for learning
• writing projects that incorporate technology, such as webpages, digital storytelling, and electronic portfolios
• the ways in which technology is challenging traditional conceptions of ownership of text though such practices as remixing, pastiche, and the ease of “copy and paste” and how this affects student writing and our teaching
• approaches to teaching students how to discriminate between different types of online sources when conducting research

This workshop is open to all who are interested in taking part in the discussion.  Come to share your knowledge, learn from your colleagues, and explore approaches to teaching with writing.  You are welcome to bring an assignment or syllabus to share. 

This discussion group will be held twice, to accommodate different teaching schedules:
