Academic Achievement Center (AAC)
About The AAC
The
Academic Achievement Center, which occupies a 9000 square foot space on the
ground floor of Maxwell Library, opened in January of 2001, bringing to fruition
a vision that evolved from campus-wide planning and commitment. The Center offers
a comprehensive array of programs and services to support the continued academic
success of Bridgewater State College students.
Academic advising is a major function of the Achievement Center. Programs include
the Haughey First Year Advising program, academic advising for all degree-seeking
students who have not yet declared a major, and evening advising for currently
enrolled and prospective non-degree seeking (Continuing Education) students.
In addition, learning assistance programs and services are many and varied.
The Achievement Center is home to the college Honors Program, Second Language
Services, the Office of Disability Resources, Tutoring Services, as well as
the Writing Studio, Mathematics Services, Study and Research Services, and the
Communications Laboratory.
With all the services available in the center, the AAC is the largest hub of
student academic services on campus. Ideally located in the basement of the
Maxwell Library in the center of the BSC Campus, the Academic Achievement Center
is a vibrant environment at the heart of the BSC academic community.
