For Students

If you're looking for help with one of your classes, the process is almost as easy as 1-2-3!!!

You can come by Tutoring Central in the Academic Achievement Center (AAC), or click the link below, to complete the necessary paper work to request a tutor. Whichever method you choose, the next step is to bring your completed paperwork to Tutoring Central and make an appointment to meet with the Tutorial Coordinator to finalize your request.  After finishing this step, your request will be checked against available tutors in your requested subject area, and the tutor/student match-up process can begin. Please note that tutors are not available in all courses at all times so it may take some time to find the perfect match for you. We will try our best, honestly!

Student Responsibilities in the tutoring relationship:  Even though Tutoring Central likes to maintain a relaxed and fun learning environment, there is a strong work ethic inherent in any academic endeavor. Please read the "Student Tips" link below to learn how to make the best of your tutoring experience. Additionally, remember these key facts as you move forward with your request; students looking to receive a tutor should attend class, and always come prepared with a text book, notebook, and questions to all tutoring sessions.  We also strictly enforce a three strike policy, terminating the tutoring match-up if the student is consistently not prepared, cancelling, or "skipping" scheduled tutoring times. Your tutor is NOT your professor; he/she will not repeat every lecture for you. Your tutor is NOT going to complete your homework assignments, take home quizzes or exams. Your tutor WILL provide valuable insight into study skills, test taking strategies, as well as explanation and clarification of course material and concepts. When student and tutor work well together, Tutoring Central provides a successful, engaging, academic experience. We are here to help students succeed in any way possible and let's not forget to have fun.
