Dr. Catherine E. Comeau Award

The Catherine E. Comeau Award is awarded to an alumnus/na of the Health and Physical Education Department, now known as the department of Movement Arts, Health Promotion, and Leisure Studies, for outstanding leadership and professional achievement.

The recipient should be a graduate of the Baccalaureate Degree Program, in the Department of Movement Arts, Health Promotion, and Leisure Studies at Bridgewater State University, who has been a graduate for a minimum of five years. The recipient must meet the required criteria and three of the four qualifying criteria.

Required criteria:

  • The recipient must have demonstrated extraordinary interest and devoted service to Movement Arts, Health Promotion and Leisure Studies as defined by the department.

Qualifying Criteria:

  • One who has served as an influential role model and who has contributed significantly to the lives of others.
  • One who has provided outstanding service, leadership and achievement through involvement in professional organizations.
  • One who has brought about change for the benefit of others and the profession.
  • One who has sought and accepted challenge and who has shown dedication and a willingness to go beyond the minimum effort.
