The Honors Program at Bridgewater State College provides exceptional students with an opportunity for new intellectual challenges. Small class sizes help foster close student-faculty relationships to enhance critical thinking, intellectual dialogue, and creative research. Bridgewater State College provides diverse course offerings for students to achieve a comprehensive education in an area of interest.

Departmental Honors are offered through the Art Department for students in their Junior and Senior years. Students must have completed 12 credits of Commonwealth Honors work, or attain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.3 to enter Departmental Honors. Independent study and research are emphasized at this level. Students are required to complete nine credits of Honors work at the 300 & 400 levels, and can do this by combining honors contracts with their honors thesis.

Please visit the Honors Center in the Academic Achievement Center on the ground floor of Maxwell Library for additional information.
