Bridgewater State University's Arts for Youth

Workshops are usually projects/classes that are not normally offered in the daily schedule. Kids choose what workshops they are interested in taking, form a roster of workshops posted daily. This roster always includes a balance of visual arts, performing arts, and sports offerings. Teachers of visual arts workshops provide a model of what the kids will be making. Some workshops may run two days in a row (depending on the complexity of the project), but most are completed by the end of the period. Workshops are offered Periods 3 and 4 in the Arts for Youth schedule. Sample sports workshops have ranged from Kickball, to Capture the Flag, to the ever-popular and original "AfY Ball!" Other past workshops have included: Jewelry Making, Masks, Line Dancing, Marionettes, Cooking, Stomp, Radio Drama, Acting Out Poetry, Learn a Dialect, Designer T-Shirts, Tie-Dying, Collages, Stamp Art, and much more!
