This summer's Arts for Youth Interns include:
Matt
Pilotte
Chloe
Pantano is
going to be a senior at Cardinal Spellman High School in the fall. She loves
dance and art more than anything else in the world! Chloe has been dancing at Michelle's
Studio of Dance since she was two years old, and has been an assistant teacher
there for the last two years as well. She has been involved in various art
programs my entire life and doesn't know what she would do with out art and dance!
Sadly, Chloe never had the chance to attend Arts For Youth when she was younger, but
she
did attend various other summer camps and loves the fun energetic atmosphere.
She can't wait to have another amazing summer at Arts For Youth!
Dan
Russell: This is Dan’s first year working
as an intern at Art's for Youth, and he is looking forward to working with all
of the AfY campers! For the past three summers, Dan attended the Arts for Teens
program, where he enjoyed playing leading roles in 3 of their musicals. Dan also
spent 9 years at Arts for Youth, having fun in all of the classes that were
offered each summer. In his spare time, Dan enjoys hanging out with friends,
playing on the BR Ultimate Frisbee Team, running cross country and track for BR,
and being in the school Musical. His latest role – chorus member of the infamous
French musical
Les
Mis!
Kim Whitney is 17 years old and going to be a senior at Silver Lake Regional High School this upcoming fall. She hopes to major in computer engineering and design, but also pursues hobbies in art, photography, drama and music. She takes pride in being a published artist, having already sold a painting at an art show and designed a logo for a metal fabrication company. Additional to her participation in the drama club at her school, Kim is also secretary of her school’s executive board student council, captain of the math team, involved in track and cross country year-round, and a member of both National Honors Society and Students Against Destructive Decisions. After participating for four years in the AfY/AfT program, she is beyond thrilled for this will be her first year interning at AfY and is looking forward to a splendidly creative summer!
Liam
Quinn is 17 years old
and will be a senior at Cardinal Spellman High School in the fall of 2012. He
has been very involved with the arts his entire life. Some of the shows he has
been in include Godspell, Fiddler on the Roof, Bye Bye Birdie, Anything Goes,
Guys and Dolls, and The Wizard of Oz. He is also a choir member at Spellman,
and has been in the school's spring musicals. This is Liam’s second year as an
intern at AfY but he had attended the program for 10 years before working as an
intern. Liam is also a co-captain of his varsity basketball team, that he has
played on since he was a sophomore. His favorite food is pizza and his favorite
instrument is guitar. He is very excited to return to work at AFY for another
year. He loves AFY!!!
Dan Fox
(Intern) Dan is 20 years old, and a junior
majoring in Theater at Dean College. Dan spent most of his childhood summers at
Arts for Youth, where he took many, many performance classes, followed by
several summers attending the Arts for Teens program –the summers when Arts for
Teens was first founded, and the teens worked collaboratively with their stage
directors to create original pieces of theater with music. These experiences at AfY and AfT helped fuel Dan’s current passion for the arts, especially his
passion for theater. In his free time Dan likes to draw comic books, film
movies, and write. Dan is looking forward to returning to Arts for Youth as an
intern, where he will work closely with the teen program, as they rehearse
Thoroughly Modern Millie, and then Disney’s Aladdin, Jr.
Cameron Hay
(Intern) Cameron is 17 years old, about to
enter his senior year at West Bridgewater High School. Cameron went to Arts for
Youth for six years, and then Arts for Teens summer camp for another four years,
where he performed in several musicals, including Bye Bye Birdie,
Anything Goes, and The Music Man. He is looking forward to now
working as an intern at Arts for Youth, and can't wait to meet all of the
campers! Cameron loves music and science, has had experience working in radio
production at WB High School, and loves to play the drums, guitar, bass guitar,
piano, and any hand drum you can think of!
Emma
Quinn (Intern) - Emma is going to be a junior this fall at Cardinal Spellman
High School, and has had much experience performing and being on the stage. Emma
grew up attending Arts for Youth/Teens every summer, and while in “Teens”, she
performed in such shows as “Bye, Bye, Birdie”, “The Music Man”, “Seussical”,
and many more. Emma has performed in many school plays, and was recently
selected to perform in her school’s “Showcase Singers” cabaret dinner in the
fall. She has taken dance lessons at Denise Buote Dance Studio for thirteen
years, and her favorite style of dance has to be hip-hop! She has been playing
the piano since she was seven, and currently takes lessons at the Filedheacht
Music School in East Bridgewater. Along with participating in school drama
productions, and singing with the school choir, Emma is also a member of the
National Honor Society, and a long-distance runner on the Spellman track team.
After attending AfY/AfT for ten years, Emma is super excited to return as an
intern this summer!
Lindsey Thomas Lindsey is very excited to be working for Arts for
Youth this summer as an intern. She is sixteen years old and will be a junior
this upcoming fall at Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School. Lindsey has been
in the Arts for Youth/Teens program since she was seven years old. She has taken
dance for eleven years at Susan Winters School of Dance where she has studied
jazz, tap and ballet. Lindsey has performed with Star Players of Bristol County
in The Magic of Christmas and this summer will also be in the cast of Fiddler on
the Roof.
Randall
D'Intern (Mystery Intern) subsisting on a diet of discarded
Lunchables and fish heads, Randy has been an intern at Arts for Youth for 15
years. A graduate of the prestigious Milford Academy, he enjoys spending most of
his day beneath the pit stage, appearing only at night, to clean the camp and
make impressionist models of the Russian royal family using pipe cleaners.
