Robert Gardula - Class of 1988
Robert Gardula was an outstanding basketball and soccer player during his days at Bridgewater State. In
basketball, he averaged close to 18 points per game during his career. On the soccer field, he led the Bears in
scoring in both his junior and senior years. During the spring he also participated in track and tennis.
Today, Mr. Gardula is a professor of Geography/Earth Science at Fitchburg State College, a position he has held
since 1973. He received his Ph.D. from Clark University in 1975. He has been the boys' soccer coach at Wachusett
Regional high School from 1983-87. Bob has been named "Coach of the Year" for the Central Massachusetts Conference
from 1983-87. He now resides in Rutland, MA.
