Ann (Burgess) Morris - Class of 1988
Ann (Burgess) Morris attended Bridgewater State College when there were no official athletic programs for women.
However, she maintained her interest in athletics by being a BSC cheerleader for three years as well as a member of
the field hockey and dance clubs.
After her graduation, Ann taught physical education and coached at Greenfield High School (1954-56). Since then
she has taught and coached in the Warren, RI school system for the last 23 years. During her time at Mary V. Quirk
Jr. High School, Morris has coached girls' track, cross-country and gymnastic teams to many state championships.
Morris is also an assistant coach for gymnastics at the University of Rhode Island (1986-present). She has been a
member of numerous athletic organizations in the state of Rhode Island and has been a competitor in the U.S. Senior
Olympics since 1981.
Ann and her family currently reside in North Kingston, RI.
