After you have written your abstract, had it approved by your mentor, and attended an abstract writing workshop, you are ready to submit your abstract to NCUR. All abstracts must be submitted electronically through the NCUR-2012 web site.

Go to the online Abstract Submission Form (will be updated September 30, 2011). The form is very simple and includes the following information:

Personal Information. This is all about you: Enter the required information.

Institution Information. Enter your institution: Bridgewater State University. The address to use for BSU is 131 Summer Street, Bridgewater MA, 02325

Faculty Advisor (mentor) Information. You need to enter your mentor's full name, email address, department affiliation, and office phone number. (NCUR will send a copy of your abstract to your mentor.) The address of your mentor is Bridgewater State University, Department of.........., Bridgewater, MA 02325. You also need to know the title of your mentor (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Full Professor etc.).

Group/Other Presenters. A group presentation is one that requires the active participation of more than one student. If your presentation involves a group, you will enter the names of the other presenters here.

Undergraduate Research Office Coordinator Information. Contact information for the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) is entered here. The coordinator is Dr. Jenny Shanahan. The OUR address is Bridgewater State University, Room 200 Maxwell Library, 10 Shaw Rd, Bridgewater, MA 02325. Important: use the following email address for the Coordinator: jenny.shanahan@bridgew.edu. For example: Department of English, Bridgewater State University, Bridgewater, MA 02325.  Remember that your entire abstract (including the title and names of authors) must be 250-300 words in length. You can also include a URL to link the abstract to websites that might contain images of creative works you have completed, or other documents relevant to your abstract. IMPORTANT: The web-based abstract submission form does NOT support special characters. So, if your abstract contains a formula or other special characters, provide a URL that is linked to a location where your abstract can be read in its original form.

Academic Interest Field:  Select this field carefully, as this will dictate who reviews your abstract and in which session you will be scheduled.

Equipment. Indicate if you need any special equipment for your oral presentation or for performing and visual arts presentations. No special equipment is available for poster presentations.

Certify: Type your initials in the space provided and submit your abstract. After you submit your abstract, you will receive an email receipt.

You should be notified by email if your abstract is accepted for presentation at NCUR on January 6, 2012.
