The commercial airline industry has seen a steady decline in commercial pilot applicants through the last ten years. Two of the biggest reasons for this are the cost of flight training and decreasing funding availability outside of collegiate training programs. The decrease in pilot applications and qualified flight crew personnel means that over the next 15-20 years the commercial airline industry will be challenged to meet the demand for pilot staffing. Developing the curriculum is only part of the equation. Selecting the right people can guarantee an operation many years of uninterrupted staffing and high, consistent operational quality. To meet this need, BSU Aviation is establishing official employment articulation agreements to keep the pipeline of qualified candidates flowing into the aviation world. We invite all aviation industry operators to access our pool of commercial pilots, flight instructors and future commercial pilots for employment opportunities, and to interview and recruit our aviation students and graduates. BSU Aviation is and will continue to be a great resource for meeting pilot staffing needs! BSU Aviation already partners with local airlines to incorporate professional level operations into our training curriculum, resulting in continuous evolution and improvement within our training programs to meet the needs of our industry partners. |

Airline
Sponsored Flight Training Airlines and aviation employers invest heavily in the most important safety resource available in the cockpit - the pilots. This concept has been in place for years in Europe, Asia and many other parts of the world, and now BSU Aviation is joining other training providers in introducing this model to U.S. operators. BSU Aviation is developing a flight training sponsorship program to connect our students with prospective employers. As a collegiate Part 141 flight training provider, BSU Aviation recognizes the need to keep up with the demand for future pilot staffing, and we are actively recruiting new candidates to conduct their flight training with us. Moreover, by conducting flight training at BSU Aviation, pilot applicants can get started and progress through the training quickly and efficiently knowing that funding is available. |
