How often do students fly?

We require that our students schedule a minimum of 3 flights per week. We encourage students to fly more if their schedule permits. Flying more often keeps students proficient and saves money in the long run.

Also, the Aviation Training Center is open 7 days a week and all summer.

What is the difference between FAA Part 61 and 141 flight training?

BSC Aviation operates mainly under part 141 regulations but can also train under part 61 in order to accommodate students needs. Part 141 training allows students to receive various ratings and licenses with less flight time. What differentiates the two is structure and accountability. Part 141 schools are periodically audited by the FAA and must have detailed, FAA-approved course outlines and meet student performance rates. Part 61 schools don't have the same paperwork and accountability requirements. We work closely with the FAA to ensure that we are providing top quality training. A part 141school is also a requirement to qualify for VA benefits.

What type of aircraft does BSC Aviation operate?

We utilize 8 Cessna 172R's for the core training fleet and 2 Piper Arrows for complex flight training.
