Plan on spending from $400 to $500 per semester for textbooks. Instructors submit their book lists to the campus bookstore. Book lists for each term are posted.
The bookstore may feel like a very hectic place when all students come to purchase books at the start of the semester. The following suggestions will help eliminate any confusion:
The bookstore accepts cash, personal checks, Connect @ BSC card, VISA, Master Card, Discover, American Express, and ATM cards that are part of the NYCE system. Personal checks will require a photo ID. All checks must be preprinted with name and address and should be made payable to BSC Bookstore. The bookstore will not accept third party checks.
Unwanted textbooks can be sold back to the bookstore at any time. At the end of every semester a special buying period occurs where any textbook being used at any Massachusetts State College during the following semester will be bought back for 50% of the current selling price. If the text is not being used again or if the stores have sufficient quantities, a national wholesale market price will be offered. All books to be sold back must be the most current edition available and in resalable condition.
