The Canadian Studies Minor
Differences in beliefs, traditions, laws, and language create constant misunderstandings, not only with countries far from our own but with our closest neighbors. Experts in the cultures, economies, and practices of other peoples are vital to successful international relations. To help meet the increasing need, the Canadian Studies Program offers a minor in Canadian Studies.
Requiring 18 credits, the minor provides BSC students with general knowledge of Canada and in-depth study of subjects such as the Canadian economy, literature, sociology, art, history and more. Students are treated to talks from Canadian writers, artists, business people and government representatives, as well as the expertise and firsthand knowledge of the Program's Canadian Studies professors.

Student Exchange Programs
The Canadian Studies Program offers 3 student exchange programs. BSC students from any major can immerse themselves in Canadian culture while studying at prestigious Canadian universities.
Nova Scotia/New England Exchange and
Quebec/New England Exchange
The Nova Scotia/New England Exchange and Quebec/New England Exchange Programs offer BSC students the opportunity to study at the Nova Scotia or Quebec university, respectively, of their choice for one semester or an entire academic year. Full time students who have completed at least one year of study at Bridgewater State College and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher are eligible for these programs. For more information and/or an application, visit the Study Abroad Programs office.
