Join us for the 11th Distinguished Canadian Annual Address, "Diversity and the Digital Divide: The Challenge for Universities," delivered by the Honourable Donald H. Oliver, Q.C., senator for Nova Scotia.

 

Senator Oliver's commitment to human rights and equality for all is reflected in both his community service and his frequent public speaking engagements. In addition to his work in the areas of human rights and visible minorities, Senator Oliver recently spearheaded a Conference Board of Canada study on Visible Minorities and the Canadian Labour Market.

 

The Distinguished Canadian Annual Address is free and open to members of the BSC community and the public. A reception will follow immediately on the Moakley Center balcony. Join the Canadian Studies Program to welcome the first Killam Visiting Professor of Canadian Studies, award-winning Canadian author Nino Ricci.

 

Nino will be in residence at BSC for the fall 2009 semester. He will be teaching a fiction writing workshop, speaking on campus and off, and attending local and national Canadian Studies events.

 

Come meet and chat with Nino and with Canadian Studies Program members. Everyone in the BSC community is welcome. Refreshments will be available.
