School Adjustment Counselor - five months
Describe the main responsibilities of your position.
Crisis intervention, counseling students, team meetings with teachers, administration, students and their parents.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I love the students and the faculty are great to work with.
What do you find most challenging about your job?
Engaging students to achieve academic success when met with resistance.
Describe your typical work week. (How many hours you work, your work environment, etc.)
Monday - Friday, 7:00 am-2:30pm
What job search methods did you use to obtain your current position?
Networking with faculty currently in the school district.
What advice could you give to students interested in your field?
Seek an opportunity to due an internship at the place that you may desire to be employed, it is a great way to get known. Pursue a Masters Degree in either Social Work or Counseling at a school recognized by the Department of Education.
