About CDE/FAQ

The Bridgewater Office of Continuing and Distance Education (CDE) oversees undergraduate evening degree programs, evening credit classes in the fall and spring, all undergraduate summer courses, and winter intersession. CDE also oversee all distance education courses and noncredit online professional development and enrichment courses.

I would like to finish my degree in the evening. How do I start?
Contact the Office of Continuing and Distance Education at 508-531-2788 for information on how to begin. We will help answer your questions.

I need some advice. Can I speak with an advisor?
Bridgewater offers academic advising in the evening for prospective undergraduate students. Call the Academic Achievement Center at 508-531-1214 to make an appointment to speak with an advisor.

Can I be enrolled in a degree program even if I can only attend part time?
Yes. You may attend as either a full-time or part-time student.

What is the cost?
The cost for a three-credit, undergraduate course in the evening, online or on the weekend is $928.14 for the 2011 - 2012 academic year. Click here to view a tuition and fee chart for the current academic year.

What undergraduate programs do you have in the evening?
We offer evening baccalaureate programs in Accounting and Finance, Art, Communication Studies, Criminal Justice, Economics, English, Management, Psychology, and Sociology. We also offer credit courses in more than 60 subject areas. Click here to see details about our undergraduate evening programs.

Do you offer online courses?
Yes, Bridgewater offers online credit courses. You can mix online courses and traditional classroom courses to pursue your degree. For online courses, Bridgewater enjoys a cost advantage over other four-year institutions. The price for an online credit course is the same as a traditional classroom course. Presently, we do not offer any fully online degree programs.

Do you offer financial aid?
Yes, financial aid is available to undergraduate students enrolled in evening classes. In order to be eligible, you must be a matriculated student (accepted into a Bridgewater degree program) and enrolled in a minimum of six credits. Bridgewater also offers an interest-free tuition management program where students can divide payment of their bill over several months for a small fee. What's an information session?
The Bridgewater Office of Continuing and Distance Education sponsors information sessions each semester where prospective students may learn about the degree programs and services available to undergraduate students attending in the evening. We provide a brief overview, and then open the session for questions. Representatives from the Admissions and Transfers offices attend to help answer your questions.
