Distance Learning course types
Bridgewater provides students with four methods to participate in distance learning. Each course delivery type is described below.
Web Courses (WEB)
Web Courses are offered entirely over the World Wide Web. There are no face-to-face meetings. Requirements include access to a personal computer with printer and Internet connection, browsing capability and email. Web-Based Courses (WBL)
Web-based courses are offered primarily over the World Wide Web with approximately 80 percent of the class online and 20 percent in the traditional classroom delivery. Requirements include access to a personal computer with printer and Internet connection, browsing capability and email. Supplemental face-to-face class meetings on campus will be required. Half Web / Half Lecture (WBH)
Half of the course is web-based and half face-to-face class meetings. (up to 19 hours) Requirements include access to a personal computer with printer and Internet connection, browsing capability and email. Video / DVD courses
Video / DVD Courses consist of pre-recorded programs available on videocassette or DVD from the college in addition to supplemental materials. There will be some additional class meetings on campus.
