The Center for Entrepreneurship Studies provides the following
consulting and advising services for BSC students, faculty and local
entrepreneurs:
|
|
|
-
Entrepreneurship Intern Program
- CES will provide
students with resources to find internships in an entrepreneurial
business setting. A faculty member will work with BSC's Career
services to create internships and supervise the students.
- Consulting Center - Students, with faculty supervision, will act as consultants to assist
regional and small businesses with various issues for a semester.
The Consulting Center will select particular cases from all the
business requests, and group students to examine the problem(s)
facing the business by matching the student's interests and/or
strengths. The student team will then meet with the owner to
formulate the business issue. The team has frequent interaction with
the client and the faculty member overseeing the project to develop
the methodology, conduct the necessary research and analysis and
draw conclusions. The resulting recommendation(s) will be delivered
in a final report and presented to the business owner and faculty
member. The program gives students the invaluable experience of
reality testing their classroom learning.
- Entrepreneur in Residence Program
- CES will recruit a successful
entrepreneur each year to spend time on campus, allowing students
and faculty to benefit from his/her experiences and expertise. The
Entrepreneur in Residence will make visits to classes, conduct
school-wide presentations, advise faculty on their efforts to
develop and conduct workshops, as well as other
entrepreneurial-related activities and advise students interested in
creating their own business.
- Small Business Development Center - CES
has a
partnership with the Massachusetts Small Business
Development Center. The MSBDC has representatives on campus the
first Friday of every month.
