The Role of the Center for Multicultural Affairs

The Center for Multicultural Affairs (CMA) will provide multicultural programming resources to Bridgewater State College's student organizations, faculty and departments that request assistance. Multicultural programming resources include assistance with identifying cultural entertainers, speakers, authentic recipes, and vendors.  CMA will also assist student organizations, faculty and departments with research on cultural customs and traditions for BSC cultural events. CMA staff members may serve as the advisor to multicultural student organizations upon the group's request or when it is determined by CMA and the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership (OSIL) that such a role is necessary.

The Center for Multicultural Affairs will assist student organizations with developing programs and events that focus on the following:

  • Understanding the identity and culture of under-represented populations

  • Provides opportunities for students of color to engage with diverse groups of people

  • Understanding the impact diversity has on the BSC community

  • Provides a forum for under-represented students to discuss the advantages and challenges of being a member of a diverse society.
