Oral Presentation Tips
Along with other useful tips and guidelines, you may use the following information to help in creating a successful oral presentation at the Graduate Research Symposium.

Know your audience
Structure your presentation in a clear and concise manner so that your audience will stay interested and focused on your presentation.

Be organized and professional
Structure your presentation in a logical sequence. Use unambiguous vocabulary. Be knowledgeable about your research. Spend time practicing your presentation. Presentations should be 20-25 minutes total including a question and answer period. Check your spelling and grammar. Dress appropriately and professionally. Stay calm.

PowerPoint Presentation
If using PowerPoint, please include the following:

Title
Introduction
Method
Results
Conclusion
Acknowledgment

Be sure your presentation is not overwhelming to the audience. Remember you did the research, not your audience.
