Diane Bell, Director
Diane has served as Director of the Community Service Center since it was established in 2004. She oversees all of the signature programs and works closely with faculty who teach service-learning courses. Diane spends a great deal of her time promoting civic engagement and collaborating with many departments and student groups on campus. You will often find her building houses or serving meals alongside student and staff volunteers. The Chicago native grew up in Atlanta where she received her BA from Spelman College and her MBA in Marketing from Clark Atlanta University. Diane also holds an MS in Sport Administration from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY and served as the Community Relations Manager for the Atlanta Braves major league baseball team. An avid sports fan, Diane loves the Boston Red Sox and spends her Sundays (and Monday nights) on the couch watching football. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and through the sorority, volunteers in the cities of Brockton and Taunton.
Sarah Buckley, Special Programs Coordinator,
MACC AmeriCorps VISTA
Sarah is the Massachusetts Campus Compact AmeriCorps* VISTA for the second year in the Community Service Center. Barbara George, Clerk IV/Office Manager
Barbara has served as the Office Manager at the Community Service Center since 2004. She is usually the first person callers and visitors to the Center encounter. She assists students with their inquiries regarding community service and provides administrative support to the department. She is an avid reader and (sometimes!) knitter. When not working, Barbara loves to spend time with family and friends enjoying the natural beauty of New England.
Jennifer Thibodeau, Jumpstart Bridgewater Site Manager
As the Jumpstart Bridgewater Site Manager, Jenn recruits, hires, trains, and observes 45 Bridgewater students as they work to enhance the literacy and social skills of children from low-income families. Jenn leads these students in serving in the Brockton and Taunton communities, but the Jumpstart program can be found nation-wide. A New Hampshire native, Jenn earned her BS at Rutgers University and is currently working on completing her Master's of Education from Mansfield University in Pennsylvania.
Katie Walo, Staff Assistant
As Staff Assistant, Katie is in charge of marketing for the office, which consists of sending out all Student and Community Announcements, maintaining the office Facebook page, and finding different ways to promote our many volunteer activities. She also handles the Center's website, including managing all event info, updating our snazzy new photo gallery, and making sure all pages stay exciting and up-to-date. In addition, Katie plans the on-campus First Friday events to highlight a different service topic each month. She spends the rest of her time chasing after her 15-month-old (and her working-full-time-while-attending-grad-school husband), reading any book she can get her hands on, and singing with her church choir. Katie is originally from New Hampshire and received her BA in Liberal Arts from Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, PA.
