Mission
The
BSC Conference and Event Services Office (CESO) follows College priorities
to plan, support, and execute meetings, events and programs on campus. A
one-stop operation, CESO coordinates the efforts of college support areas on
behalf of event sponsors. CESO provides a high level of customer service to
event sponsors while managing limited space and other resources in service
of the college mission.
To
carry out this mission, CESO:
-
Serves as the central reservation office for all college-sponsored
events with the exception of academic classes. Provides prompt,
customer-oriented service to schedule and plan events.
-
Acts as a consultant to event sponsors who need assistance selecting the
most effective spaces and conceptualizing successful events with all the
needed equipment and services. Teaches inexperienced program planners
how to plan successful events.
-
Serves as an agent for the President and the Cabinet to implement
institutional priorities in planning events. Prioritizes major college
events while honoring as much as possible the need to support other
programs, events, and meetings sponsored by college departments and
student organizations.
-
Reconciles scheduling conflicts when necessary through mediation and
consultation with event sponsors, support units, and college leadership.
-
Coordinates the efforts of college offices and contractors to provide
event support including room setup; audio-visual, information
technology, and other technical support; equipment movement or rental;
catering; security services; parking; and custodial services.
-
Advises the President and Cabinet of resources needed by college
departments to provide the event support described above.
-
Supports the use of BSC facilities for events done in partnership
between college sponsors and external entities when those events are
compatible with the college mission.
-
Maintains the college's master event calendar and reservation database.
-
Coordinates the rental of college facilities to external entities when
such use does not impede the college's ability to carry out its primary
mission. Focuses such efforts during the summer months.
-
Coordinates overnight accommodations, meals, and other services for all
residential summer programs.
