This year, three teams of student filmmakers from Bridgewater traveled to Hollywood, CA, to compete against 1,000 of their peers in the 11th Annual Campus MovieFest Hollywood Awards.

CMF – the world’s largest student film festival – was held at the Globe Theatre at Universal Studios. Competitors from across the nation gathered for a weekend of workshops, student and major studio film screenings, tours, networking events and meetings with industry leaders.

Two of the competing Bridgewater films were "I Love You, Pizza," by Megan Murphy and Michael Shanahan, and "The Frame," by Elyse Cotta, Melissa Ellard and Michael Mullen. The third film, "Heretic," directed by Robert Morton, '12, was named one of the top 25 films at the festival.

Morton and fellow crew members and classmates Cam Lamothe, Matt Charette and Mac Capen traveled to Hollywood for the event along with veteran CMF participant Jim Sass, '10, and Ed Cabellon, director of the Rondileau Campus Center who organizes the CMF at BSU each year.

Celebrity guests at this year’s festival included actors Jack McBrayer (30 Rock), Danny Pudi (Community), Horatio Sanz (Saturday Night Live) and Adam Ferrara (Rescue Me). The CMF also featured Q and A sessions with Academy Award winners Jon Landau (producer for Avatar and Titanic) and Wally Pfister (cinematographer for Inception and The Dark Knight).
