The Academic Affairs area includes the Schools of Arts and Sciences, Education and Allied Studies, Business, and Graduate Studies; Maxwell Library; and all of the academic services and programs under the two Associate Vice Presidents.  A member of the President's Cabinet, the Provost also coordinates strategic planning for the College.

Dr. Smith oversees the Enrollment Services Group that consists of the offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, Academic Achievement Center, and Registrar, as well as the Transfer Coordinator and Student Resolution Specialist.  This group will be developing student recruitment and retentions plans, and coordinates all enrollment services provided to students striving to provide students with consistent and complete information from the college.   (Vita)

Ms. Charbonnier directly assists the Provost with scheduling, meetings, reports and other initiatives and serves as a liaison between the Provost and the school deans, other departments in the Division of Academic Affairs, the Vice Presidents, and the President. Ms. Christoun works to promote the smooth transition of transfer students to Bridgewater State College by communicating with institutions from which students transfer and by supporting the advising and transfer credit process.  

 

 

Ms. Kelly Duarte

Ms. Duarte assists the Provost in administering the various collective bargaining agreements and is primarily responsible for ensuring the College's compliance with those agreements.  Her responsibilities include coordinating the hiring process for faculty and librarians; monitoring the reappointment, promotion, tenure, post-tenure review, and sabbatical leave process; manages faculty workload data and contract processes in coordination with Human Resources; calculates minimum salary data and pay adjustment management; and works closely with the school deans and academic department chairpersons on personnel issues.

Ms. Courchesne is responsible for resolving problems and managing questions related to students and faculty.  She handles all student appeals directed to the Provost.  She also assists with the ongoing review of academic policies and procedures and initiates changes where appropriate. 

 

Mr. Michael Dunn

Mr. Dunn prepares, analyzes, monitors, and manages the budget and monitors all academic budgets.  He works with the Provost to develop strategic initiative budgets in the campus planning process and assists the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs with faculty professional development funds.  He processes requisitions for several college operating budgets and works closely with budget and finance personnel to implement fiscal policies effectively.  Michael oversees post award administration of the Faculty and Librarian Research Grants, processes and funds divisional travel awards and special grants, and assists faculty, deans and directors with budget-related issues.  He also provides budget-related training workshops and one-on-one training for faculty and staff.

Ms. Fontana provides direct support to Andrew Harris, Associate Provost, in all office-related activities including coordinating his schedule and travel arrangements, and managing meeting and event coordination.  Karen is responsible for providing support to the undergraduate academic governance process and coordinates and oversees the student evaluation process.  

 

Ms. Maria Schaaf

Ms. Schaaf provides office support for several faculty-led initiatives, including several academic centers and new core curriculum developments.  Maria's responsibilities include planning and organizing meetings with the cooperation of the faculty coordinators; scheduling and arranging conferences, interviews, recording and distributing minutes to meetings; organizing hospitality needs and travel arrangements; and processing reimbursements; as well as providing support during events, maintaining participation records and coordinating PDPs.  Maria prepares requisitions and contracts, manages web sites, assists in the collection of revenues, and helps in the preparation of annual reports.
