The Office of Assessment regularly conducts University-wide surveys and other related assessments. Summaries of the findings from those studies are available here.

CIRP - The Cooperative Institutional Research Program at the Higher Education Research Institute at UCLA conducts The Freshman Survey at colleges and universities nationwide. It is the largest study of higher education in America, and BSU participates annually through surveys of entering first-year students during summer orientation.

NSSE - The National Survey of Student Engagement is a national survey of first-year and senior college students, conducted annually by the NSSE Institute at Indiana University. This survey assesses the quality of students' educational experiences. BSU participates every three years.

Campus Climate Survey - This is a locally developed survey of students, faculty/librarians, and staff, to assess the campus climate for diversity, broadly defined. It was conducted for the first time in spring 2010 and will be repeated every two years.

Graduating Senior Survey - This is a locally developed survey of graduating seniors. It assesses their overall satisfaction with their experience at the University, their plans for the immediate future, and their rating of various elements of their academic majors. This survey also asks seniors to describe the experience they had at BSU - inside or outside the classroom - that most engaged their interest and challenged them to grow. The Graduating Senior Survey was conducted for the first time in Spring 2010 and will be repeated each fall and spring.

Alumni Survey - This is a locally developed survey of recent bachelor's degree recipients. It was conducted for the first time in fall 2010 and will be repeated every two years.
