Director of Institutional Research and Assessment (Position vacant). The director is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and directing research related to the College's operating programs. The director is also responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating the implementation of a comprehensive outcomes assessment plan. The director is a consultant to the campus community on data interpretation and communication issues, assessment instrument design and development procedures, accreditation and program review processes. The director is responsible for the accuracy of all data reported to federal and state agencies and regional and national accrediting bodies related to campus programs and activities.

Rebecca Mushet, Assistant Director of Institutional Research and Assessment and BSC alumna, oversees the office's institutional research functions including collection, maintenance and reporting of core institutional data. Rebecca is responsible for maintaining the College's census files, facilitating the extraction of data from administrative systems and ensuring data integrity and accuracy in analyses. She oversees mandated state and federal reporting, including HEIRS II and IPEDS, as well as reporting to other external agencies and maintains the metrics for the College's Strategic Plan. Dr. Cathryn Turrentine, Acting Assistant Director of Institutional Research and Assessment, oversees the office's assessment activities. Cathy is the liaison for major national surveys (e.g., NSSE and CIRP). For locally developed surveys (e.g., BSC's Campus Climate Survey and Graduating Senior Survey) she works with key stakeholders to develop the survey instruments, coordinate the administration of the surveys, analyze responses, and disseminate findings to appropriate constituencies. Cathy maintains a central data set of sampled students, faculty/librarians, and staff for college-level assessments, to assure that the same persons do not receive multiple assessment requests in a single semester. She works with key stakeholders to develop focus group protocols, conducts the focus groups and reports results. Cathy also assists departments, college committees, and divisions to develop assessment plans, and she conducts analyses of institutional data to support institutional accountability and continuous improvement. Adam Moitoso, Research Analyst, assists in the collection, maintenance and reporting of core institutional data. Adam is responsible for analysis and dissemination of institutional data for internal and external purposes. This includes college guidebooks and surveys such as U.S. News and World Report and the Boston Business Journal, as well as ad hoc requests from faculty, administrators and students. Dr. Marlene Clapp, Research Analyst (part-time), is responsible for supporting the College's diversity-related initiatives, programs, and services. Marlene serves as lead analyst for data collection and analysis efforts pertaining to the College's Project Compass grant initiative.
