Microsoft Office 2007 Seminar Series (MOSS)
is a training series designed for professionals seeking
introduction to Microsoft Office 2007 applications.
The program will consist of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel,
Publisher, PowerPoint, and Outlook training.
The 8 session seminar series is taught in a relaxed,
professional environment with special
attention to the specific needs of the individuals
attending each seminar. The series is conducted in
the John Joseph Moakley Center, a state-of-the-art
Technology Center.
The instructor, Virginia Timmerman, has been a private
computer consultant with more than 10 years of experience.
Previously she was an mainframe programmer for Verizon.
She specializes in teaching Microsoft applications at the
novice, intermediate and advance levels for Southeastern
Massachusetts professionals.
The cost of the seminar includes: 8 sessions (3.5 hours
each) of instruction, course manual, study tips, flash
drive, Bridgewater State College computer guest account, access to
computer lab, and a certificate of completion.

Day 1 |
Word 1: Review
tasks that are in common throughout the
Office applications, e.g. introduction to
the Ribbon in the Office 2007 applications,
formatting, working with pictures,
maneuvering in the document, opening and
saving documents, using cut, copy, and
paste, the mini toolbar, headers and
footers, SmartArt/WordArt, etc. |

Day 2 |
Word 2: Working
with the features of Word; begin instruction
on Outlook email. |

Day 3
|
Excel 1: Review spreadsheet tools, working
with formulas and basic functions. |

Day 4 |
Excel 2: Review
how to work efficiently in Excel, working
with worksheets, paste special, printing
features, Excel specific formatting, and
charts. |

Day 5 |
Excel 3: Review
filters and advanced filters, working with
functions to evaluate data, analyze data,
financials functions and conditional
formatting. |

Day 6 |
PowerPoint:
Review how to use the PowerPoint features to
create interesting and visually appealing
presentations. |

Day 7
|
Publisher:
Review how to use Publisher to create
appealing and informative brochures,
newsletters, greeting cards and business
cards. |

Day 8 |
Access: Review
working with data bases including forms,
queries and reports; finish Outlook
instruction on calendar and contacts.

Notes:
- Maximum registrations per session: 18
people. Registrations are on a
first-come basis.
- Minimum registrations for each session: 10
people. If session does not meet the
minimum requirement,
session will be canceled.
- Registration deadline is due 5 days prior to
start date. Payment is required at the
time of registration.
- Cancellations must be received in writing 48
hours before start date. Non-attendance does not
constitute a cancellation and no refunds will not be
issued for non-attendance.
