Housed on the idyllic campus of Bridgewater State College, NEWI is a weeklong retreat designed for people who are seriously interested in the art and craft of creative nonfiction. Novice and experienced writers are taught by local faculty who are nationally recognized in the genre and committed to excellent instruction and fostering a community of writers. The program includes readings, workshops, panels and seminars, as well as interactive discussions with literary agents, publishers and editors of magazines. In addition to learning how to best shape their work for publication, NEWI participants are exposed to opportunities for careers in publishing and editing.
