Description: On 8/7/08, Governor Patrick signed a $ 2.2 billion higher education bond bill into law which includes $ 98.7 million for the addition/renovation of the Conant Science Building. This project will include a 171,000 square-foot addition, renovation of 43,000 square-feet and demolition of one existing wing of the building. The program will accommodate lab, teaching, research, and instruction space for Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Computer Sciences, Earth Sciences, Geography, Math, and Physics. The goal for this project is to meet L.E.E.D. Silver Certification.Status: Construction started in June 2009. On 10/30/09, the College hosted the official groundbreaking ceremony. This project will be constructed in phases. Phase One - A new 171,000 square-foot addition was completed in August 2011. The demolition and renovation to a portion of the existing building will begin in September 2011 and will be completed in July 2012. All phases will be completed in August 2012.

Designer: Walker Parking Consultants
General Contractor: Barr & Barr, Inc.
Description: New parking garage to provide parking for 840 vehicles and will be located in the Lower Great Hill parking area adjacent to the Rosen Tennis Courts. Scope will include an enclosed elevator/stair tower, entrance from Great Hill Drive, security camera system, and a standpipe system for fire protection. The structure will be constructed using a brick-clad precast concrete system.Status: Construction on this project began in May 2011 and is expected to be complete by January 2012.

Designer: Perkins + Will Architects
General Contractor: Bond Brothers, Inc.
Description: A new 500-bed residence hall will be sited between Crimson Hall and the new Parking Garage on East Campus. The focus of the residential programming is on creating unique living/learning communities within the building. The building will be L.E.E.D. certified and will include many of the same energy conservation systems of our other L.E.E.D. buildings. The building will include space for the health and counseling functions presently housed in Tillinghast Hall, along with a guest suite, and four multi-purpose rooms.Status: Construction fencing and temporary walkways for pedestrian circulation around the construction site will be complete February 20, 2012. Construction to begin with site work, utilities and soil stabilization first of March. Construction will be complete for Fall 2013 occupancy.

Description:Status: At this time, the feasibility study is being finalized to incorporate Mass L.E.E.D. Plus requirements. Design and construction will proceed in phases. Plans are underway to renovate the cafeteria during the summer of 2008.
