Abbey Stockwell, BSC geography major with an environmental concentration 2003. In 2005, Abbey joined the AmeriCorps (the national equivalent to the Peace Corps) Watershed Stewards Project located in Northern California. In her first year, she worked with Trinity County Planning Department and in 2006 transferred to California Trout - a non-profit. In both of these positions she was involved in the Trinity River Restoration Program, teaching watershed topics in the classroom and participating in salmon restoration either through policy work or restoration projects. In 2007, Abbey has just started working on her M.S. at Humboldt State University in the Natural Resources Planning Department. She hopes to work on water quality and storm water run-off reduction through low impact development. |
